The True Cost of Pasture-Raised Farming: Why Our Prices Reflect Our Values

We value you—our customer, neighbor, and friend. That’s why we believe in transparency when it comes to the decisions we make for our farm and business. You may have noticed some changes in our product pricing, and we want to share the reasons behind them.

Raising high-quality, pasture-raised animals comes with real costs. From the land they graze on to the feed they eat and the skilled hands that care for them, every part of our operation is built on a commitment to ethical and sustainable farming.

What You Pay for When You Buy Pasture-Raised

High-quality, humanely raised meats cost more than the mass-produced options at the grocery store—but for good reason. When you invest in pasture-raised food, you’re supporting more than just what’s on your plate.

Space to Roam

We raise our animals on 260 acres of open pasture, where they graze on fresh grass and live in their natural environment. This kind of farming takes more land, time, and resources compared to industrial meat operations, where animals are confined in tight spaces.

A Healthy Diet

We feed our grain-eating animals only the best non-GMO grain alongside fresh pasture. Some farms cut corners by using conventional or genetically modified feed to lower costs, but we won’t compromise on quality. We also never use hormones, antibiotics, or growth boosters—just a natural, nutrient-dense diet that supports the health of our animals and, in turn, the quality of our meat.

A Longer, Better Life

Unlike industrial meat operations that prioritize rapid growth for quick profits, we let our animals mature naturally and humanely. This means higher costs in feed, land maintenance, and labor, but it results in healthier animals and better-tasting, nutrient-rich meat.

Ethical Farming & Land Stewardship

The way we farm impacts more than just the animals—it affects the entire ecosystem. We practice regenerative farming to improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and maintain a balanced environment. Supporting pasture-based farms helps preserve these natural cycles and ensures that farming remains a force for good.

Investing in People & Craftsmanship

Behind every product we offer is a team of skilled farmers and butchers who bring expertise and care to everything they do. We pay our team a livable wage because we believe good food starts with good people.
